Gordon County in the Cvil War
 The Friends of Resaca is a not-for-profit organization made up of Gordon County citizens dedicated to maintaining and preserving the area of the Battle of Resaca,which commenced on May 13, 1864. This was a significant attempt by the Confederate forces to stop the advance of Sherman on Atlanta.
